Ministries

Blessed Sacrament Church supports many ministries including the Blessed Sacrament Children's Learning Center consisting of 6 classrooms and providing a developmental preschool to over 70 students.

Who We Support

We also support H.I.S. House in Placentia, a transitional living facility for the homeless, Placentia/Yorba Linda Meals on Wheels Program, AIDS Services Orange County, Mary's Shelter, Holy Family Services, Fullerton Interfaith Network, Father Parks Mission in Peru and Nashotah House Seminary in Wisconsin.  We also provide school supplies to the Cathy Torrez Learning Center for the benefit of low income families in Placentia and we have provided food assistance to the hungry through the Angel Food and Treasure Box programs and have provided food and supplies to the homeless through our "Pail-Out Program".

Feeding Gods People

We support many other programs and ministries for people of all kinds. Following is a brief summary of most of them:

Lectors, Readers, Acolytes, Ushers, Greeters, Choir, Altar Guild, Eucharistic Ministers & Eucharistic Visitors

These ministries for men, women, and children make the worship services on Sunday and during the week possible.

Pastoral Care  

The priest, assisted by a number of gifted lay people, keep in contact with those in need of home or hospital visitation or other needs.

Evangelism/Newcomers  

The congregation makes a concerted effort to welcome visitors and invite others to the church, with the primary goal of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Youth  

Quality educational programs and fellowship for children and youth are offered such as; Vacation Bible School, Youth Summer Camp, Bi-Weekly Youth Group Meetings, Cathedral Arts Academy Music Camp, Advent Nativity Pageant, Easter Pageant Activities, Monthly Fellowship Events and Religious Education Classes.

Music  

Volunteer adult and children's choirs, led by Paul Degado, provide a top quality music program.

Multiple vocal ensembles grace the worship life of the parish

The Bethlehem Choir – a volunteer SATB vocal ensemble composed of parishioners and guests led by Director Paul Delgado.

Childrens' Choir – comprises all the children and youth age three through junior high school.  They rehearse seasonally for specific events, such as Advent or Christmas pageants, Easter, etc.
